About Us
The Multihull Yacht Club of Victoria (MYCV) commenced as the Trimaran Association of Australia (Victorian Branch) in 1964 with 17 founding members.

The MYCV has been the southern spawning ground for multihulls designed by visionaries such as Lock Crowther, Tony Grainger and Brett Crowther. Together, with a few members who have had the means to invest in their new, and at times, radical designs, they have enabled today's multihulls to include many innovative design features.

The longest serving members of the club are Lindsay and Val Cuming who have provided inspiration to other club members for the past twenty years whilst cruising and racing their yacht Bagatelle.

Considering the number of yacht clubs in Australia, we can boast that current or former members have held the Singlehanded TransPacific and TransTasman records, the Darwin to Ambon record, the Queenscliff to Devonport record, and locally, the Around French Island and Williamstown to Geelong records. In addition, we provided one third of the bicentenary Two Handed Around Australia Race. Notable members on the ocean racing scene over past years have been: Phil Smith - Power Brewing/YumiMaru - Kraken 55 tri. John Cadwallader- St Terese - Buccaneer 36 tri. The trailerable Farrier designs are the mainstay of the under 30' craft. New boats to join the fleet this year include ‘Pacifica’ (a 40' wing masted racing cat), ‘Desperado’ (a 41’ Grainger racing cat) and ‘Phoenix’ (a Buccaneer 33' trimaran).

The following is a list of the type of multihulls that are currently on our Sail Register:-
